Responsibilities
- Lead a team focused on developing advanced procurement strategies for commercial data and analytics services.
- Develop long-term sourcing strategies for critical data assets including sales, prescriber, patient claims, promotional response, and market analytics data.
- Identify ways to enhance data accuracy, standardize access methods, and simplify analytics processes across departments.
- Establish strong partnerships with data governance and technology teams to align procurement goals with broader business objectives.
- Find opportunities to strengthen collaboration between enterprise functions such as IT, R&D, Medical Affairs, and HEOR.
- Manage supplier categorization, performance tracking, and governance frameworks.
- Oversee supplier relationship initiatives to foster innovation, co-develop solutions, conduct due diligence, and align KPIs through regular business reviews.
- Design proactive risk mitigation plans to address potential procurement challenges.
- Lead full-cycle sourcing activities including RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and pricing auctions to select and onboard data and analytics vendors.
- Take primary responsibility for contract negotiations, including master service agreements and statements of work, using insights from multiple data sources.
- Work with legal, compliance, and finance teams to finalize contracts, ensuring adherence to policies and on-time execution.
- Support innovation and transformation in commercial analytics through cross-functional collaboration.
- Provide market intelligence and trend analysis to guide strategic decisions, incorporating knowledge of emerging technologies and industry shifts.
- Coach and develop junior procurement staff to strengthen team capabilities and support talent growth.
- Execute cost-saving initiatives over both short- and long-term horizons while maintaining ethical standards and compliance with company policies.

- Lead a team of category management professionals to create best-in-class strategies for AbbVie’s procurement of commercial data and analytics services.
- Build comprehensive long-range category strategies for sourcing and managing data sets such as sales data, physician and prescriber data, patient-level claims data, promotional response data, and market analytics
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, unify access protocols, and streamline analytics workflows across business units, and work cross-functionally to implement.
- Build constructive relationships with stakeholders in functions related to data governance and technology, driving alignment and influencing business strategy.
- Identify areas to improve enterprise collaboration with IT, R&D, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and other related organizations.
- Lead supplier segmentation, performance management and governance processes
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management activities, driving innovation with key category suppliers and collaborate to co develop solutions that delver on long term business needs. Work in partnership to host QBRs, conduct due diligence, evaluate service levels, and integrate business-specific KPIs.
- Develop and activate mitigation strategies to proactively define and manage procurement risk
- Lead end-to-end sourcing events (RFP/RFI/RFQ/Pricing Auctions), with support from a sourcing team, to identify and onboard data and analytics vendors in alignment with category strategies.
- Serve as lead for contract negotiations (MSAs, SOWs, JBPs), with support from a contracting team, factoring in business and compliance priorities, leveraging multiple data sources.
- Partner with related teams (legal, compliance, finance) to draft and execute contracts, ensuring risk mitigation, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support innovation and transformation initiatives in commercial analytics.
- Contribute to a cross functional team that informs strategic decision making by leveraging market intelligence, staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and market dynamics.
- Mentor Category Managers and Procurement Specialists, contributing to talent development and functional capability building.
- Implement short- and long-term cost reduction strategies while operating with high ethical standards and in compliance with AbbVie policies and procedures.
