Spotify is hiring an Associate Analytics Engineer

About the Role

The individual will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to build and optimize analytics solutions that power product and operational insights.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models that support reporting and analytics use cases
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for accurate data transformation and delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across analytics systems
  • Optimize SQL queries and data structures for performance
  • Document data models, pipelines, and analytical processes
  • Support the evolution of the analytics data warehouse
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
  • Contribute to best practices in analytics engineering
  • Use version control for data modeling code and pipeline configurations
  • Monitor pipeline health and implement alerting when needed
  • Work with stakeholders to refine business logic in data models
  • Apply testing methodologies to validate data accuracy
  • Integrate new data sources into existing analytics frameworks
  • Support dashboard and report development with reliable datasets
  • Participate in code reviews for analytics codebases
  • Improve data discoverability and metadata management
  • Assist in defining metrics standards across teams
  • Maintain awareness of analytics engineering trends and tools
  • Contribute to on-call support for critical data pipelines

Nice to Have

  • Experience with dbt (data build tool)
  • Exposure to data orchestration platforms like Airflow
  • Prior work in a product-focused data team
  • Understanding of event-based data models
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices in data projects
  • Knowledge of data governance principles
  • Experience in a music, media, or content platform environment
