The Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine seeks a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor. This role offers the opportunity to build a funded research program within a highly integrative environment, applying multi-omics approaches to advance biomedical research.
What You'll Do
- Participate in a transdisciplinary research program applying multi-omics approaches for basic and translational biomedical research.
- Establish and maintain a funded research program.
- Engage in mentoring and teaching.
- Contribute to the service missions of IGS and the broader UMSOM.
- Build a research program collaborating with other departments and clinical programs at UMSOM.
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in genomics, computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, bioengineering, computer science, mathematical biology, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in analyzing and integrating tumor biology and clinical data streams.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and applying multi-omics approaches for biomedical research.
- Potential to establish a funded research program.
- Strong track record of collaborations with clinical and basic scientists.
Nice to Have
- Research program focused on developing machine learning/AI methods for bioinformatics, subclone and mutational analysis, genome structure, epigenetics, antigen prediction, immune repertoire sequencing, or related areas.
- Research experience in academia, industry, or government.
