Responsibilities
- Serve as a critical gatekeeper based in Hong Kong with global coverage, supporting the Compliance team in safeguarding the Group and ensuring adherence to global regulatory requirements
- Assist in driving the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Group’s compliance policies, procedures, and corporate governance standards
- Perform third-party onboarding due diligence (KYC), maintaining data integrity in the onboarding database and ensuring timely periodic reviews
- Assist in developing and delivering physical and virtual compliance training, strengthening organisation-wide awareness and fostering a strong compliance culture
- Partner with cross-functional teams across the region to provide practical advice on compliance and global regulatory matters
- Conduct legal and regulatory research on global regulatory requirements, for example, sustainability-related laws, to support business initiatives
- Support and contribute to investigations into potential non-compliance matters
- Provide operational support to ensure the effective day-to-day functioning of the Legal & Compliance Department
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, internal audit or legal
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to assess issues from multiple perspectives
- Willingness to learn and research new regulatory requirements and other compliance-related matters
- Great communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across the Group with diverse culture
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a strong commitment to building a long-term career in legal and compliance
Nice to Have
- KYC experience is an advantage
- Degree in law, accounting, or a related discipline preferred
