Responsibilities
- Mission 1: Management
- Mission 2: Strategy and steering - Contributing to the development of the programme operational strategy, and to its implementation and annual monitoring - Implementing the project part of the Programme’s Operational Strategy
- Mission 3: Standards and expertise - Ensuring deployment and compliance with HI global frameworks, institutional policies and standards.
- Mission 4: Operational implementation - Ensuring compliance with project donors’ rules and adherence to contractual commitments - Ensuring the sound management and monitoring of projects under her/his responsibility - Keeping both potential opportunities and risks in mind, contribute to the monitoring and analysis done by the line manager, and propose mitigation measures where relevant - Developing HI’s external influence (forums, operational and strategic alliances, etc.) and the external representation of the organization (events, media) in her/his area of responsibility. - Coordinating the teams in her/his area - Supporting the Director/Country Manager in monitoring security in their area and ensure adequate resources according to the context
- Mission 5: Emergency Preparedness and Response - Leading the emergency preparedness actions in her/his department
Requirements
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in Area/Field/project management in challenging humanitarian contexts, as well as experience working in complex and conflict affected regions.
- You have a proven experience in managerial and security management experience.
- You have experiences on donor relations, external relations, fundraising and strategic positioning.
- You know how design and coordinate of complex emergency interventions.
- You have strong and solid management and communication skills.
- You are fluent English (oral and written).
- You show strong organizational skills, you are autonomous and reactive.
- You are willing to travel frequently and work in remote, insecure areas.
Nice to Have
- Arabic is a plus.

Additional Information
- Language requirements: Fluent English (oral and written); Arabic is a plus.
- Travel: Willing to travel frequently and work in remote, insecure areas. Travel to other parts of Darfur is planned, including Nyala, Zalengei and Geinena.
- Contract duration: 6 months

- Housing: Collective taken in charge by HI
- R&R: 5 days every 8 weeks
- Paid leaves: 25 days per year
- Medical evacuation service is available by ambulance for Chad
- Movement is highly restricted and must follow strict security procedures, with travel outside the immediate operational area subject to security clearance.
