Reporting to the Microbiology Laboratory Manager or designate, the Laboratory Analyst I is primarily responsible for performing basic to intermediate microbiological testing as assigned. This includes, but is not limited to, pre-incubation activities such as media preparation, enumeration testing, and sample enrichment, as well as post-incubation processes including rapid testing using VIDAS and various PCR platforms, along with applying general knowledge of microbiological cultural methods.

Receives and registers incoming samples as required; maintains accurate, organized, and complete records of daily activities, including quality control and regulatory documentation.
Enters sample data into the Eurofins eLIMS system accurately and within required timelines.
Performs laboratory testing on incoming samples accurately, efficiently, and within established turnaround times; meets or exceeds service expectations.
Reviews and verifies test results, ensuring timely submission to appropriate personnel.
Conducts testing using PCR and other rapid methods, including platforms such as Hygiena BAX and VIDAS.
Performs assigned steps in cultural methods for pathogen detection.
Builds and sustains positive working relationships; communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, across departments.
Upholds the company’s reputation by practicing ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
Continuously seeks opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and client service through existing and emerging technologies.
Identifies and reports non-conformances and out-of-specification results in accordance with procedures.
