Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior technology leadership and stakeholders to shape a holistic AI strategy, addressing data infrastructure, system readiness, and organizational capacity
- Evaluate existing AI capabilities and guide the creation of a phased implementation plan that combines immediate opportunities with sustainable growth
- Investigate AI initiatives within similar nonprofit, humanitarian, and human rights organizations to uncover potential partnerships
- Partner with internal teams to identify impactful applications of AI and convert operational needs into actionable technical projects
- Design, develop, and launch AI and machine learning systems that deliver quantifiable benefits such as time savings or improved performance
- Utilize platforms within the Microsoft AI suite—including Copilot Studio, Azure AI, and Power Platform—alongside other suitable technologies to build solutions
- Manage external consultants and third-party vendors to supplement internal resources and ensure timely delivery
- Develop a balanced strategy that introduces staff to AI tools while also pursuing custom developments that enhance core functions
- Produce targeted educational content for diverse departments and skill levels, focusing on effective prompting and ethical AI use
- Assist in facilitating AI working groups and communities of practice to foster knowledge sharing
- Develop clear, user-friendly guides and playbooks to help non-technical employees understand and use AI tools
- Work with technology leadership to establish risk evaluation frameworks and ensure compliance with security, infrastructure, and architectural standards
- Support the formulation and practical application of AI-related policies
- Define evaluation criteria for Proof of Concepts and Minimal Viable Products in coordination with key stakeholders
- Engage with business units to understand their goals and jointly drive AI initiatives with shared accountability
- Navigate the tension between innovation and real-world limitations—including data integrity, security, and resource availability—while upholding organizational principles and mission

- This is a one year fixed-term position
- Must be based within commuting distance of one of the following offices: Amsterdam, Amman, Berlin, Brussels, London, Stockholm, New York, Washington DC, Miami, Sao Paulo, Toronto or Chicago
- Candidates must not require relocation support to work near an office
- Candidates must have valid work authorization for their intended location
