Mindex is looking for an AI Conversation Engineer to design, architect, and implement robust conversational AI systems like chatbots, voice assistants, and virtual agents. You will build solutions that drive real business value across enterprise systems by collaborating with product managers, UX designers, and data engineers to define requirements and deliver polished user experiences.
What You'll Do
- Define conversation flows and dialogue architectures to support multi-turn, context-aware, natural dialogs using tools such as Dialogflow CX.
- Develop, write, and optimize prompts to guide large-language models or other generative models toward accurate, context-appropriate, and safe outputs.
- Fine-tune and adjust models through prompt tuning, fine-tuning, or parameter optimization to align model behavior with product and user goals.
- Integrate conversational AI with existing backend systems via APIs and data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow, context handling, and retrieval.
- Iterate on conversation design through A/B testing, user simulations, and evaluation of model outputs using both automated metrics and human review.
- Apply MLOps best practices to model versioning, testing, monitoring, and deployment.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Python development and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in conversation architecture and design, including defining dialogue flows, state/context management, branching logic, and UX considerations.
- Deep expertise in prompt engineering: writing, testing, and refining prompts to guide large language or generative models.
- Experience with model tuning (prompt tuning, fine-tuning, hyperparameter adjustment) to meet quality, safety, and reliability standards.
- Practical experience with at least one conversation or agent platform (e.g., Dialogflow preferred) with the ability to build, deploy, and maintain agents.
- Experience with API integration to connect conversational agents to backend services, databases, or external APIs.
- Solid conversation design experience, including understanding of user-centered design, natural language understanding/generation, tone and style, and fallback handling.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to translate technical AI capabilities into user-facing solutions.
- Curiosity about the latest developments in AI, NLP, and LLMs, with a willingness to experiment and learn continually.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
