KIPP is hiring an After School Program Instructor (Part Time) - K-8 - Elementary/Middle School (26-27 SY)

Responsibilities

  • Carry out after-school activities in core program areas such as academic help, homework club, fitness, recreation, arts, and enrichment.
  • Help record program schedules, lesson plans, curriculum, youth participation, and outcomes.
  • Apply positive behavior and classroom management strategies with children.
  • Record student attendance daily using sign-in and sign-out sheets.
  • Support after-school program registration, customer service, and community outreach.
  • Uphold high health and safety standards to protect students, staff, and others.
  • Take part in all after-school activities including preparation, setup, takedown, and cleanup to keep the facility clean.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, school personnel, and community partners.

  • Must be able to commit to working throughout the entire school year.
  • Reports to: Extended Learning Opportunity Program Director.
  • Physical: Ability to navigate school and classroom settings. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-35 lbs. Physical agility to move self in various positions in order to execute duties effectively, which may include frequent kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping and reaching overhead.
  • Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people.
  • Environmental: School and in-person classroom environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Adhere to KIPP’s health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies’ recommendations.
  • Part time, non-exempt school based position on school calendar. Approximately 20 hours a week, ~ 2:00pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday.
