Lead the accounting operations for high-growth clients as a trusted financial advisor in a flexible consulting capacity. This role offers the opportunity to manage end-to-end corporate accounting functions, from month-end close to financial reporting, while working remotely with a diverse portfolio of organizations across industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the complete month-end close cycle, including financial statement preparation and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Oversee accounts payable, expense reporting, and, where applicable, accounts receivable, billing, and revenue accounting
- Handle payroll processing and related journal entries when required
- Monitor cash positions, conduct bank reconciliations, and produce cash flow and burn rate analyses
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and FASB standards tailored to each client’s size and structure
- Collaborate with external tax professionals on state, federal, and sales tax compliance
- Act as primary contact during audit periods and coordinate with auditors as needed
- Supervise junior accounting staff when assigned
- Strengthen internal controls and support the design of efficient accounting processes
- Advise executive and operational teams on financial and accounting matters
Qualifications
Candidates must bring a minimum of eight years of combined public accounting and industry experience, with at least three years in a leadership role. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, preferably in accounting. Strong technical accounting knowledge, organizational capabilities, and clear communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential.
Preferred qualifications include CPA licensure, experience in startup or technology environments, and the ability to work independently with sharp analytical judgment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-focused, and capable of managing complex financial workflows across multiple clients.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary for the Senior Accounting Manager role ranges from $110,000 to $145,000, adjusted based on experience, location, and scope. Additional compensation includes annual and productivity-based bonuses, commissions on originated and closed engagements, and participation in returns from liquidated stock portfolios.
