Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to implement client PR and social media projects.
- Create schedules and manage deadlines for project tasks.
- Keep team members informed of progress and proactively share updates.
- Identify when additional support staff are needed for projects and oversee their work during execution.
- Help organize client press events and act as a representative of both the client and agency on-site.
- Coordinate and arrange meetings, product shipments, inventory, and team or client files.
- Attend client calls and meetings as directed by a supervisor.
- Conduct outreach to traditional and social media contacts.
- Show understanding of the media landscape, including social media, and use it to boost brand awareness and engagement for clients.
- Create media lists, develop editorial calendars, engage with journalists and bloggers, and secure media placements.
- Build relationships with traditional and social media contacts on behalf of the agency and clients.
- Monitor program results and compile reports on media coverage.
- Research ideas for client programs to assess their feasibility.
- Participate in agency brainstorming sessions for client programs.
- Begin developing strategic and creative thinking skills.
- Actively take part in agency committees or departments as assigned or requested.
- Participate in agency projects and events.
- Assist in compiling materials for awards submissions.
- Help with research for new business and business renewal opportunities as directed by a supervisor.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Manage multiple projects across multiple accounts.
- Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and actively communicate progress and deliverables.
- Learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Work from the company’s offices in New York City and travel within the city, including outer boroughs and suburbs, to complete tasks.
- Travel to client and event locations and meet with clients at their office locations or headquarters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Up to one year of experience in a public relations agency, digital agency, or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
