Sanofi is hiring an Accelerator Data Science Lead based in Paris to lead the deployment of AI/ML solutions with robust lifecycle management. You will challenge the status quo to ensure the development and impact of Sanofi's AI solutions for patients, while leading a team of data scientists and data analysts. You'll be at the heart of Sanofi's ambition to be the leading digital healthcare platform, harnessing data insights and leveraging AI responsibly to improve people's lives.

What You'll Do

• Participate in the definition and refinement of the Data Science strategy to accelerate Sanofi's digital products, focusing on understanding patient and HCP journeys to tailor interventions.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and build relationships to acquire, define, and access data assets.
• Lead a team of data scientists and data analysts.
• Use data analysis, visualization, storytelling, and data technologies to scope, define, and deliver AI-based data products to accelerate and optimize commercial outcomes.
• Work with a wide variety of unstructured and structured data sources, such as omnichannel performance data, financial data, omics, wearable device data, voice recordings, imaging data, electronic health records, social media postings, or operational data.
• Generate high-impact work products including interactive visualizations, presentations, publications, web applications, APIs, and predictive algorithms that drive business value.
• Build and deploy production-ready models using state-of-the-art machine learning technologies, highly optimized code, and robust MLOps practices.
• Create scalable algorithms, simulations, and performance evaluation frameworks that meet enterprise standards.
• Drive innovation through experimentation, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and continuous exploration of emerging technologies.
• Embed ethical AI practices and maintain regulatory compliance across all AI initiatives, embedding responsible AI principles into the development lifecycle.
• Drive data governance through the improvement of existing Sanofi frameworks and ensure the team applies best practices in partnership with business stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• A Master's Degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, data science, computational sciences, or a related quantitative discipline OR a PhD plus 3 years of relevant work and domain experience.
• At least 8 years' experience in Data Science and a proven track record of leading a data science team.
• Experience developing deployable code and deploying models in product-focused development under an agile environment.
• Excellent leadership, management, and articulation for a Data Science team.
• Experience working with multiple teams to drive alignment and results.
• Excellent business analysis, data visualization, and data storytelling skills.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Expertise with core data science languages (such as Python, R, Scala), and familiarity with different database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Expertise with sensitive data in critical environments (healthcare, defense).
• Expertise within most of the following areas: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, LLMs, reinforcement learning, federated learning, time series forecasting, Bayesian statistics, optimization.
• Comfortable working in cloud and high-performance computing environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, NVIDIA, Apache Spark).
• Hands-on AI/ML modeling experience of complex datasets combined with a strong understanding of theoretical foundations of AI/ML (CI/CD, Orchestration).
• Experience with Visualization tools (Power BI, Plotly, Streamlit or similar).
• Experience with various enterprise-level Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• English language proficiency is mandatory.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a healthcare company is a strong plus.
• Experience with database mining, big data, and large-scale virtual screening using Bayesian Optimization or Gaussian Processes.
• Good knowledge of AI regulations.
• French language skills.
