Responsibilities
- Create and execute a clear vision for after-school programming that supports the organization's mission, values, and educational goals.
- Design programming that offers students meaningful opportunities for academic improvement, enrichment, leadership, and social-emotional development.
- Assess program effectiveness by analyzing data, gathering stakeholder feedback, and reviewing student outcomes to drive ongoing enhancements.
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere where every student feels recognized, valued, and supported.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, supervise, and evaluate after-school staff members.
- Deliver continuous coaching and professional development to maintain high-quality instruction and student involvement.
- Foster a team culture centered on accountability, growth, and continuous learning.
- Ensure all staff complete required professional development hours and compliance training.
- Work closely with school leadership to align after-school programming with school-day priorities and student requirements.
- Establish systems that promote effective communication and collaboration between school-day and after-school personnel.
- Act as the primary contact for families and build strong family partnerships.
- Organize and execute family engagement and community-building events to strengthen ties among families, schools, and after-school programs.
- Lead student recruitment and retention efforts to achieve or surpass enrollment targets.
- Develop strategies to ensure consistent student attendance and participation throughout the program year.
- Monitor attendance and participation data to identify trends and implement necessary interventions.
- Adhere to all Department of Health, Department of Youth and Community Development, Office of Children and Family Services, and organizational compliance requirements.
- Keep accurate program records, data collection systems, and required reports.
- Complete all required DYCD trainings and apply learning to enhance program practices and student experiences.
- Collaborate with school-based and regional teams to create and implement crisis management and student support plans.
- Manage site budgets, purchasing, expense tracking, reporting, and budget adjustments in partnership with the Finance Team.
- Ensure responsible use of resources while maximizing program impact and student experiences.
- Monitor expenditures and align spending decisions with program goals and priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school leaders, students, families, community organizations, and regional stakeholders.
- Represent the organization positively within the broader community.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships that improve programming and student outcomes.
