The Logistics Cluster is part of the Cluster system established by the Inter Agency Standing Committee (IASC) to strengthen humanitarian response. It works with partners at country, regional, and global levels to respond efficiently to emergencies and improve preparedness for future crises.
Its primary responsibilities include coordination, information management, and facilitating access to common logistics services. The Logistics Cluster ensures a more effective, predictable, and reliable humanitarian logistics response by bringing together UN agencies, NGOs, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and other stakeholders.
Designated by the IASC, the World Food Programme (WFP) serves as the global lead agency for the Logistics Cluster and hosts the Logistics Cluster Team at its headquarters in Rome. The cluster operates in emergency, preparedness, sustainability, and training contexts across multiple countries worldwide.
