Lloyd EcoDistrict is a community-led organization championing resilience, equity, and climate protection in Portland's Lloyd neighborhood. As the first certified EcoDistrict in Oregon and one of only seven globally, it serves as a model for sustainable urban development.
The organization integrates social equity and environmental sustainability to reduce the neighborhood's ecological footprint. It operates under the EcoDistricts Framework, which empowers communities to set and achieve goals around climate resilience, energy efficiency, and inclusive neighborhood planning.
Lloyd EcoDistrict leads initiatives such as community engagement events, emergency preparedness, green space stewardship, and volunteer programs. It also manages a lending library and supports local sustainability projects to strengthen neighborhood resilience.
The organization is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by a small staff team, working together to advance the goals outlined in its 2030 Roadmap. Its work is rooted in collaboration, justice, and long-term environmental stewardship.
