General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited is a subsidiary of the United States-based defence and security corporation General Dynamics. The company delivers solutions in two main areas: Land Systems and Mission Systems. It has a worldwide reputation for excellence in the production of technology-based, integrated solutions for land, airborne, maritime, and public safety applications.
Founded in 1962 with an initial office in London, the company moved to Hastings, East Sussex in 1974, where it supplied avionics for platforms such as the Tornado GR1, Harrier GR7, Nimrod MR2, and Eurofighter Typhoon. In 2001, following the award of the UK MoD Bowman contract, it opened a new headquarters in Taunton, Somerset.
